Dr. Hans Van den Wyngaert behaalde het diploma geneeskunde aan de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1988 en volgde daarna de specialisatie Orthopedische chirurgie in het UZ Leuven en diverse perifere opleidingsplaatsen, alsook in Zuid-Afrika. Dr. Van den Wyngaert is gespecialiseerd in de behandeling van knie- en sportletsels.
